What’s JRC

The JRC (Japan Radiology Congress) consists of four organizations: the JRS (Japan Radiological Society), JSRT (Japanese Society of Radiological Technology), JSMP (Japan Society of Medical Physics), and JIRA (Japan Medical Imaging and Radiological Systems Industries Association). Within the JRC, academic societies that are concerned with radiology, radiological technology, and medical physics work together to hold academic conferences, exhibits, and the like, while respecting each other’s administrative independence. One of the goals of the JRC is to contribute to the health and prosperity of the people of Japan. JRC works toward this goal by engaging in the following activities.

  • Planning, execution, and management of academic conferences
  • Dissemination and publishing of information about radiology, medical radiology, etc.
  • Other activities following from or related to the preceding activities

The annual April conference in Yokohama will include more than 1600 research presentations and an exhibit by at least 140 companies of the latest radiology equipment. The exhibit is called The International Technical Exhibition of Medical Image (ITEM). The conference will have a total of at least 20,000 participants. This is the biggest conference of radiology, radiological technology, and medical physics not only in Japan, but in Asia as well.
