Welcome Letter

Sunday-129

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to welcome you to the 71st Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology.

This meeting is being held in conjunction with the
The 74th Annual Meeting of the Japan Radiological Society (JRS) and the 109th Scientific Meeting of the Japan Society of Medical Physics (JSMP) from April 16-19, 2015 at PACIFICO YOKOHAMA in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Japan.
The main theme of JRC2015 is “BE Cool and Practical”.

We have three Joint Symposiums from JRC,
“Patient Dose in Radiology Manage the Invisible”
“The Importance of Team Care in Radiation Therapy” and
“How Should We Face to the Automation Technologies in Radiology?”.

This meeting will feature Joint Special Lecture
“Severe Earthquake Disaster in Tokyo Metropolitan Area
and the Gigantic Earthquake Imaged by a Seismic TomographyMethod”
by Prof Naoshi Hirata from Earthquake Prediction Research Center, The University of Tokyo
This Joint Special Lecture will show similar patterns formed in an earthquake wave with those formed in a MRI pulse.

We have four JSRT sessions,
Special Lecture 1 is “How to learn and teach normal chest radiograph?”
by Specially Appointed Professor Harumi Ito from University of Fukui.

Special Lecture 2 is “‘Toward supreme use of X-rays’ -Development of X-ray Talbot-Lau Imaging-“
by Prof Atsushi Momose from Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM), Tohoku University.
He is researching imaging of soft tissue by using the phase contrast X-ray.

Invited Lecture is “Current Topics in Diagnostic Radiological Physics; Technical Questions Associated with Setting Up
Enterprise Wide Patient Radiation Dose Monitoring And Tracking Programs.” by Dr. Pei-Jan Paul Lin from Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.

International Symposium is A Challenge of the National Radiology Data Registry –Learning by Experience in the United States-” by
Dr. Michael McNitt-Gray from University of California, Los Angeles,
Dr. David A Clunie from Pixel Med Publishing LLC.
and Dr. Rikuta Ishigaki from Kyoto College of Medical Science.

This program has been enhanced for Educational Courses, Guide courses, Specialized courses, Forums and Expert Committee.
It has two Technology Seminars,
One is “How to involve in radiology technologist in emergency medical care”.
It is a six-part series by Doctor and Radiology technologist of Emergency medical.

Also in the three-part series is “Let’s take advantage of the ImageJ”
It is ImageJ usage for DR, CT and MRI images.

Educational Courses is “Medical treatment in breast cancer from A to Z -How will the specialists think about ?-”
This has provide consistent education for Imaging diagnosis, Pathological diagnosis, Drug treatment and Radiation therapy.

To facilitate internationalization of our Society, we recommend the use of English.
Society towards on internationalization, we recommend use in English.

Oral presentations by English are 115 presentations in this 71st meeting, which is 25% of all oral presentations.
The use of the English on the JRC is one of step towards internationalizing our
Society, like the ECR and the RSNA.
Our hope is that by using English the JRC can show with the rest of the world the excellent research conducted by our Society members here in Japan.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation with the JSRT members.

Let’s enjoy the 71st Annual meeting with an abundant amount of helpful discussions and try find research partners.
