Welcome Letter

Leading an Era of Transformation

The Japanese Society of Radiological Technology
The 80th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology
President Toru Negishi

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 80th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology (JSRT) as the Japan Radiology Congress (JRC) from April 11-14, 2024 at PACIFICO YOKOHAMA in Yokohama, Japan. We would like to take this opportunity to extend my warmest regards to you.

First of all, the theme of JRC2024 is “Leading an Era of Transformation”. This is because a variety of new technologies and research results have been published one after another, enabling early detection of previously unknown diseases, as well as reducing the burden of treatment for patients and improving their quality of life. We hope that JRC2024 will provide a forum for the presentation of such new research findings and for the exchange of technologies, and we look forward to lively discussions at the conference.

We would also like to make JRC2024 a congress that will benefit the whole nation by transforming the entire medical field into a better one through our radiological technology. To achieve this, we need the efforts of all our members. We hope that you will submit many research abstracts for presentation and look forward to seeing you in Yokohama. For those who are unable to make it to the conference, we will offer events and contents that will allow you to feel the excitement of the conference through on-demand streaming.

JRC2024 will be held not only in conjunction with the 80th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology, but also with Mr. Masahiro Jinzaki (Keio University), Chairman of the 83rd Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Radiological Sciences (JRS),  Mr. Masayori Ishikawa (Hokkaido University), Chairman of the 127th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Medical Physics (JSMP), and Mr. Akio Yamamoto, Chairman of the Japan Medical Imaging and Radiological Systems Industries Association(JIRA), which operates  ITEM2024, and the Japan Radiology Congress (JRC), which is the parent organization. Members are free to participate in any section of the field they wish to study, and the ITEM2024 venue is a place where they can gain information on the latest equipment and improve their knowledge.  We hope that you will make the most of the on-site Q&A sessions and on-demand streaming to enjoy JRC2024 to the fullest.

Lastly, in May 2023, COVID-19 categorized as “Class 5,” and our daily lives have entered an era of change. In the same way, I believe that radiation technology will also usher in a new era of transformation using AI technology, quantum computers, and other technologies. I sincerely hope that COVID-19 will be fully converged by April 2024, if possible, and that we will be able to discuss the revolution of radiation technology with all the participants from all over the world in Yokohama.

Warmest Regards,

Toru Negishi, President of the 80th Annual Meeting of JSRT
