Welcome Letter
We are pleased to be hosting the 70th Annual Scientific Congress of the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology (JSRT), to be held at the Pacifico Yokohama from April 10 (Thursday) to 13 (Sunday), 2014. The congress will be held as the Japan Radiology Congress 2014 (JRC2014).
The JRC is composed of four organizations – the Japan Radiological Society (JRS), the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology (JSRT), the Japan Society of Medical Physics (JSMP), and the Japan Medical Imaging and Radiological Systems Industries Association (JIRA). The JRC holds an academic meeting every year in April. Presentation of the results of more than 1,600 studies is carried out in the academic meeting. In addition, an exhibition of the latest equipment (The International Technical Exhibition of Medical Imaging, ITEM) is held by more than 140 companies. Approximately 20,000 people attend, making this the biggest academic meeting of radiology, radiological technology, and medical physics in Asia.
The main theme of JRC2014 will be “Face to Faces, Face to Communities, Face to the World”. This theme brings to mind mutual orientation and the patient, mutual orientation and the medical staff, the promotion of team-based medicine, and joint contributions to patient welfare. Origin of medicine, also past, present as well, does not change the future as well.
At the 70th Annual Scientific Congress of the JSRT, topics to be presented include Medical Imaging (CR/DR, CT, MRI, US, and NM), Multimodal Imaging, Image Engineering, Computer-aided Detection/diagnosis, Radiation Therapy, Radiation Measurement, Radiation Protection, and Informatics in the medical field. The total number of presentations in the congress of the JSRT is expected to exceed 700. In addition to general presentations, a special lecture, an education lecture, a symposium and an applied technology seminar are planned. Furthermore, a joint plan is being developed in tandem with the Japan Circulation Society (JCS) and the Japan Football Association (JFA) to offer a variety of activities that will, along with the congress of the JSRT, enrich the existing programs and be significant for all participants.
Yokohama is well known in the world as a famous and beautiful port city, and April is the best season for travel around Yokohama, Kamakura, and Tokyo.
